More Awards--and I'll Share, Too!

Major thanks to those who have passed on blog awards to me recently! Time to catch up with some fun stuff while I'm (still) doing revising for my agent. I've received:

1. Versatile Blogger Award AND Blog on Fire Award from Scott Niven
2. Blog on Fire Award from Shawna
3. The Irresistibly Sweet Blog Award from Larissa Hinton
4. The Versatile Blogger Award from CherylAnne Ham

Four facts about me that you may not know:
1. I absolutely detest, dislike, abhor, and loathe spiders. Give me a snake any day.
2. If I had to choose ONE type of food to eat for the rest of my life, I'd choose pizza.
3. One of my favorite things to do in a novel is to name my characters.
4. The most recent theater movie I've watched is Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides. Loved it!

Alas, I have no time to pass on these awards individually, but you ALL are deserving and I appreciate you! So if you don't have one of these awards, please feel free to snag it and add it to your blog, from me to you. That's my thanks to you for stopping by today.

Given a choice, would you rather be up close and personal with a spider or a snake?
If you had to choose ONE food to eat for the rest of your life, what would it be?
What's the most recent movie you've watched in the theater?
What's your favorite thing about writing--naming characters? brainstorming plot? editing and revising? inventing new worlds?

  1. Ooh, I like spiders! I think Charlotte's Web won me over. Charlotte was a very clever spider, after all. I like snakes, too. Does this make me a strange girl? Probably. However, I wouldn't like a large and ravenous snake. No, I would not.
(We share all the same awards. Rah!)

  2. Snakes or spiders? I don't know. Both freak me out, but I'd take both over a mouse!

    One food to eat...hmmm...bacon cheeseburgers.

I too love naming my characters and creating a fun twist!

We're going to see Pirates today for my son's birthday. :)
    Fun post, Carol!

  3. Definitely a spider! One food? Anything fruit! Most recent movie? Kung Fu Panda 2...Favorite thing about writing? It allows me to process what the Lord's been teaching me and pass it along to others. Thanks for the fun questions, Carol!

  4. I totally agree with on the pizza thing, but not so much on the spiders. For me snakes win hands down as the creepiest things on earth.

  5. No spiders or snakes. I like furry animals, maybe a lizard.
I can eat ice scream forever, and it would love my hips.
I also watched the Pirates movie. Loved the mermaids.
My favorite thing about writing is discovering my main character and naming him/her. Then they can just take me along for the ride.
Congrats on your awards! Great post.

  6. Spider! Although I suppose it would depend on the type... lol

I'd go with pasta, particularly seafood alfredo. Yum!

    Last theatre movie was Thor.

And the actual writing is my favorite part about writing. I love plotting and brainstorming, but I love crafting sentences and arranging words into images even more!

  7. Hello Carol!! :) Congrats on your awards. So nice of you to pass them along.

Well, spiders or snakes? I think I'd feel safer stomping on a spider than a snake, so I'll take the little 8-legged monsters, I guess.

I've been craving pizza lately - but, if given the choice for only one food - pasta would be it.

Pirates was the last movie in theaters for me, too. It was a good one! (Although, missed my Orlando...)

And I'd say I love creating a fun character - one I wish I knew, who's full of quirky clever dialogue.

    Thanks for asking!

  8. Good luck with revisions, Carol!! And my kids are TOTALLY with you on the pizza idea!

  9. COngrats on all your awards.

I don't mind spiders as long as they aren't on me or near me ;)

    I'd eat dark chocolate

Fav thing to do in a novel -- give my characters a world of pain. lol

I can't remember the last time I went to the cinema. I generally wait until movies come out on DVD.

  10. I love naming characters, too, but I tend to get so caught up in it I waste way too much time that way. Congrats on your awards!

  11. Snake, Bacon, Hangover II and hmmm, I'd have to say the feeling of omnipotent. What i mean by that is I love writing because it gives me infinite experiences that I would otherwise never have. It's a pretty powerful feeling to be anyone, experience anything, right?

    Have a good one, Carol!

    Angela @ The Bookshelf Muse

  12. shoot, that should say 'omnipotence'. Stupid Typo gremlins!

  13. Congratulations on your awards. :)
    I'd choose a snake too - they're more predictable.
One food? Probably deviled eggs (today)
Most recent movie...It's been a long time since I've been to the theater. Probably Part 2 of Nanny McPhee
Favorite part of writing - creating people and situations that never existed.
    Have a great weekend!

  14. Congrats on your awards!

I prefer snakes, but don't really mind spiders.
I would each chocolate for the rest of my life...In fact, I'm doing that now, LOL!
The last movie I saw was...I don't remember! Um, The Rite.
I love brainstorming--characters, plots, dialogue, the whole shebang.

  15. Congrats on all the awards!

    I prefer spiders.
    I'd probably eat tofu everyday.
I can't remember the last movie I watched in a theater. I prefer Netflix.
I love getting a new idea and drafting.

    Have a great weekend!

  16. Congratulations on all the awards! I am 100% on board with your hatred of spiders. I mean they have eight creepy legs! Gross.

  17. I would 100% prefer to touch a snake than a spider. Brrr.
    One food? Sushi.
Movie? Might have been Harry Potter...
Best part of writing? The first draft. What fun!

  18. Congrats on your awards!

I'm with you on the snake vs. spider. I don't like either though.

    Food would be chicken.

My favorite part about writing I think is the revising.

  19. Congrats on the awards!

I too, would much prefer a snake to a spider. Most spiders terrify me. Hmmm... one food for life. Probably enchiladas. Or strawberries. Saw Hangover 2 last night! It was good, though not nearly as funny as the first one. And yes, I too enjoy coming up with character names. Though I think in general just feeling the voice really strong and having a really inspired writing session is my most fave part.

  20. YAY! Congrats on all your awards!

Okay - definitely a spider. Fave food = sushi. Movies? What's that? And my favorite part about writing? Character development - I love watching my babies grow.

PS - not that you need another something, but I tagged you! Come by the blog to check it out!

  21. Congrats on your awards! No one is more deserving.

Spiders or snakes? Hm. Imagine each crawling up to sit on my shoulder. Which would I bat away first?
Spider of course. And after I smack the snake off, I will change my underwear.
2nd answer, same as yours. Pizza. any kind.
    3rd. I saw Super 8.
4th. My favorite part of writing is when my characters begin actually speaking to me. Now you would think that is a bad thing but as long as you don't answer them aloud...

  22. I guess I'd go for snake.
    Pizza, too.
I just saw The Green Lantern - didn't love it.
My favorite part of writing is getting lost in the new world during the rough draft.
