Happy Thanksgiving!

To everyone who celebrates Thanksgiving, may you have a very lovely and happy one. And for those of you who don't--well, have a very lovely and happy day anyhow! :)

My daughters are visiting from the Portland, OR, area and my younger daughter (22) wants to drag me off to see "Breaking Dawn." She may be more excited about it than I am, but it's a fun thing to do together. My older daughter was born the evening of November 26, and I spent 1986 in the hospital for Thanksgiving. Totally NOT recommended dining!

One year, years ago, our family ditched the idea of a turkey, and had homemade pizzas for Thanksgiving. Yes, we're rebels. Although I do love the traditional meal, especially homemade stuffing and pumpkin pie. YUM!

YOUR TURN
What's your favorite Thanksgiving food?
Have you ever eaten something besides the traditional meal on Thanksgiving?
Have you seen "Breaking Dawn" yet--and if not, do you plan to?

  1. I will be making the traditional Thanksgiving dinner this year - may favorite food is actually the turkey! I have not yet seen "Breaking Dawn" - with a house full of guys, I doubt I'll be seeing it any time soon!
Happy Thansgiving to you and yours, Carol!

  2. Favorite thanksgiving food is stuffing!

No, I have not had anything other than the norm, but I've heard rumors the first pilgrims probably had seafood, so I'd love to have lobster one year! Haha! I doubt it will happen, though.

And yes, I have seen BD. It's now my favorite of all the Twilight movies. If only they could have had this director from the beginning. :(

    Have a happy Thanksgiving, Carol!

  3. I keep hearing about punpkin pie. Wedon't get that here in Oz. I'd love to try it one day.

I do plan to see Breaking Dawn, but I'll wait until it comes out on DVD.

  4. I think I like everything on the Thanksgiving table. It's a little dangerous and why we always have the same meal every year. And why I always eat too much. : )

Happy Thanksgiving! Enjoy all the fun (and the movie) with your family.

  5. Hah, I have to laugh...we are having pork roast, yorkshire pudding, gravy and carrots...how traditional is that? NOT! But who cares?
Have a blessed Thanksgiving Carol and enjoy the time with your girls...

  6. I love the traditional Thanksgiving dinner and have never veered off the dining course, but one year when I was in school, my mom switched up the Christmas Eve ham with pizzas. It was great, of course we rarely went out to eat or ordered pizza so it was a treat.

I saw BD at the midnight premiere. I thought a couple parts were odd, but mostly I really enjoyed it and like that it's staying true to the book!

My favorite part of Thanksgiving dinner is mashed potatoes and turkey gravy and of course, pumpkin pie! Have a great one. Enjoy the movie!

  7. I hope you had a wonderful day yesterday.

    *Mashed potatoes
    *Yes. Chinese food.
*No. I'm behind in movie-watching, so I'll probably see it much later.

  8. Hope you had a great Thanksgiving Carol! I hope one day I can visit the US and experience Thanksgiving for myself--we have nothing like that in Australia :(

    Hugs,

  9. I might watch Breaking Dawn, but the ending's sort of ruined for me, so I might just wait for the dvd, since I now have a massive tv. :-)

  14. Happy Holidays.
Pizza! I'd die without my Turkey and there is no rebel in sight. I just happen to love the old bird and look forward to it all year.

  15. I've always had Turkey for Thanksgiving. As a matter of fact I only eat it once a year. Ham is for Easter. And Christmas and New Years are up for grabs. :)
